Otagi Nenbutsu-ji

This is a temple somewhat out of the way, famous for the collection of small statues of buddhas. There's usually little to no tourists, since it's not one of the common attractions. To get here, take the train to Arashiyama Station. From there, you can either walk or take a taxi, but I would recommend taking a taxi there, and walking back.
Walking back leads you directly to Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, and the way there is one of the best walks in Kyoto (also devoid of people).
